Cross-pathway synthesis

Test changes together, not in isolation

When you analyze all three pathways, the app automatically synthesizes verified combinations — testing skill swaps, gear upgrades, and tree respecs together in a single PoB simulation. It catches constraint conflicts the human eye can't see: a tree respec that drops 30 strength while a gear upgrade needs it, or an aura change that tanks your mana while you're removing mana nodes.

Agent-driven, not template-based

Path of Agent doesn't run your build through a fixed checklist. It deploys an AI agent that receives your full build state — every gem link, item mod, passive node, and stat value — and then reasons about what to investigate.

Preflight — build state extraction

The agent reads your full PoB state: skill groups, gear slots, tree allocation, resistances, attributes, and current DPS/EHP baselines. A preflight phase pre-computes dozens of PoB calculations before the agent even starts.

Tool chaining — test, measure, iterate

The agent calls custom tools to test changes against the PoB engine. Swap a support gem, see the real DPS delta. Equip a different item, check if resists still cap. Each tool call triggers dozens of internal PoB calculations — up to 50 per pathway.

Synthesis — cross-pathway verification

When all pathways finish, a synthesis pass tests the best changes together. It catches conflicts a human would miss — like a tree respec that drops strength while a gear upgrade requires it.

When you start an analysis, an AI agent receives your full build state and a set of custom tools — each one wired directly into a Path of Building engine. It can test gem swaps and see the real DPS change. Simulate gear upgrades with actual mod rolls. Respec tree nodes and check if your resistances still cap.

A single pathway analysis runs up to 5 tool calls, each one internally computing dozens of PoB simulations. The agent verifies every change against your actual character — no estimates, no hallucinated numbers.

Frequently asked questions

What version of Path of Exile does this work with?
Path of Agent is built for Path of Exile 1 and stays in sync with Path of Building and RePoE — the two main community data sources — so game data is as current as those projects provide. It does not support PoE 2.
How does the analysis work?
You import a build via Path of Building code or public account profile. An AI agent receives your full build state and a set of custom tools wired into a real Path of Building engine. Each tool call internally runs dozens of PoB simulations — testing gem swaps, gear upgrades, tree respecs — with actual DPS and EHP numbers from the engine, not model predictions.
What AI model does it use?
Path of Agent runs on OpenAI's GPT-5.2. The analysis requires chaining many tool calls while maintaining full build context across all of them — a task that demands frontier-level reasoning. We tested extensively with smaller and cheaper models, but none could reliably handle the multi-step tool orchestration without losing context, skipping verification, or hallucinating stat values.
Why do I need credits?
There's no free tier because every analysis runs a frontier AI model through dozens of real PoB calculations — and that costs real money per call. Credits let you pay for what you use at your own pace. No subscriptions, no surprise charges. The Oracle's Ledger inside the app shows exactly where every credit goes.
How much does a full analysis cost?
A full in-depth analysis across all three pathways with cross-pathway synthesis costs roughly 100 credits (about $1 USD). Single-pathway analyses cost around 30 credits. Follow-up questions are about 10 credits each.
Is there a free trial?

Is my build data shared or stored?
Your build data stays on your machine. The server only sees what's needed to run the AI analysis, and nothing is stored after the session ends.
What platforms are supported?
Windows. The app is a native desktop application built with Tauri.
